On this map area, the cities of El Mirage and Youngtown are located between Surprise to the west and Sun City to the east. The city of El Mirage was incorporated in 1951, and is just 9.7 square miles in size. Originally Youngtown was designed to be a retirement community, but now contains 80% younger residents.
Homes in El Mirage and Youngtown range from single-family homes to apartments and condominiums, all in established neighborhoods. Some subdivisions within El Mirage are Hidden Royal Acres, Fox Run, North El Mirage, Arizmendez, Thompson Ranch, Rio Paradise, Riverdale, Buena Vida, Desert Mirage Acres among others. The community of Thompson Ranch, for example, is located in the north end of El Mirage and features 522 single-family homes as well as landscaped common areas and a community park. Within Youngtown are the communities of Youngtown Terrace, Cooks Corners, River Heights, Spanish Gardens and Lemon Tree Condos.

Thing To Do: Within El Mirage are several parks including Basin Park and Gateway Park, as well as golf courses including Pueblo El Mirage Golf Course. Youngtown boasts a lake, eight parks, and a town center named Clubhouse Square. There are several smaller shopping areas within both El Mirage and Youngtown.
Schools: The school district serving both El Mirage and Youngtown is the Dysart Unified School District.
